What is Botox!?
What is Botox! In short, Neuromodulators, Botox / Dysport are muscle relaxers! Botox is botulinum toxin which is a neurotoxin protein that helps prevent neurotransmitters from sending to the axon ending in the neuromuscular junctions, therefore resulting in temporary paralysis! In other words relaxing your muscles where injected! The muscles that contract when we make facial expressions and facial movements is what creates those pesky creases and wrinkles we could all do without! So by weakening those muscles or relaxing the movement of those muscles, we allow for the skin to not crease or wrinkle! This is also why Botox is a maintenance treatment. By treating the muscle one time, we are unable to prevent those lines from reoccurring and the muscles will begin to have movement again once the Botox wears off. But by relaxing those muscles continuously, every 3-4 months, we allow for the skin to flatten, and therefore LESS WRINKLES!

What is Filler!?What is filler! It is exactly that! Filling areas of the face where one may want more volume or where there has been depletion of volume or volume loss over the years. Filler is made up of a sugar molecule, hyaluronic acid, that is naturally found in the skin and cartilage of our bodies! This sugar molecule is also hydrophilic, meaning it draws water to it, which allows for a more hydrating, filling effect! Ie. Staying hydrated = the better your filler! Depending on where the filler is placed, will change how long your filler will last. In places with less movement such as your cheeks, chin and jaw you won't have as much breakdown of the product, therefore a longer lasting result! Anywhere from 18-24M! In places with more facial movement, such as lips or around the mouth you may get 12-18M due to faster product breakdown.
